ABOUT ME

Education and Experience

Robin Fischel, M.S.,CCC-SLP received her undergraduate degree (B.A.) in Hearing and Speech Sciences from the University Maryland (Go Terps!). While there, she developed her love for the field of communication disorders. She went onto obtain her Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Boston University. From there, she began her career as a speech pathologist at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, New York. She has worked in a variety of  adult settings including outpatient rehabilitation, acute rehabilitation on both the Traumatic Brain Injury/ Spinal Cord Injury and Stroke Units. She also has experience working in the home care and inpatient acute care settings.

Robin holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice speech pathology in both Connecticut and New York.

Areas of Focus

Robin's passion lies in adult communication disorders resulting from neurological pathologies. She has had the opportunity to work and treat communication disorders resulting from a plethora of pathologies including but not limited to stroke, traumatic brain injury and degenerative disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Primary Progressive Aphasia, Dementia, and Parkinsons Disease. Robin is a certified clinical provider of the evidenced based Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) Protocol for Parkinsons Disease. Additionally, she holds a certification in the Mcneil Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP)  for treatment of dysphagia.
